Set Up Your Vietnam eSIM

Follow the 4-step flow below to install your eSIM before departure and connect after landing in Vietnam.

Open QR eSIM Link

Open the GoVnSIM eSIM link sent to your email after your order is completed.

Install QR eSIM

Scan the QR code or use manual setup details to install the eSIM.

Turn On the Line

Enable the eSIM line and select it as your mobile data line.

Land with Data Ready

After landing in Vietnam, your eSIM automatic with Local Network.

Install with stable Wi-Fi before your flight. Do not delete your eSIM after installation.

Method 1

Install by QR Code

Use the QR code shown on your GoVnSIM eSIM page. This is the easiest setup method for most phones.

How to scan your QR code

iPhone

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Cellular or Mobile Data.
  3. Tap Add eSIM.
  4. Choose Scan QR Code.
  5. Scan the QR code from your GoVnSIM eSIM page.

Android

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Connections, Network, or SIM Manager.
  3. Tap Add eSIM or Add mobile plan.
  4. Choose Scan QR Code.
  5. Scan the QR code from your GoVnSIM eSIM page.

Manual Setup

Use manual setup only if QR scanning does not work.

iPhone Manual Setup

Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Enter Details Manually

  1. Copy the SM-DP+ Address.
  2. Copy the Activation Code.
  3. Enter both fields exactly as shown.

Android Manual Setup

Settings → Network / SIM Manager → Add eSIM → Enter manually

  1. Copy the Android LPA code.
  2. Paste the full code exactly as shown.
  3. Confirm to add the eSIM.

After Arrival

Connect After Landing in Vietnam

Once you arrive, turn on your eSIM line, select it for mobile data, and enable Data Roaming.

Enable the GoVnSIM eSIM profile in your SIM settings.

Select mobile data

Choose the GoVnSIM eSIM as your mobile data line.

Enable Data Roaming

Data Roaming should be on for the eSIM to connect in Vietnam.

Restart if needed

If signal is slow to appear, restart your phone and wait a few minutes.

Do Not Delete Your eSIM

Most travel eSIM QR codes can only be installed once. If you delete the eSIM, the same QR code may not work again. Contact GoVnSIM support before removing it.

Common eSIM Setup Issues

Quick answers for the issues customers ask about most often.

Why can’t I install the QR code again?
Most eSIM QR codes can only be installed once. If the eSIM was already added to a phone, the same QR code may not work again.
What should I do if QR scan does not work?
Use the manual setup details shown on your GoVnSIM eSIM page. iPhone usually needs the SM-DP+ address and activation code. Android may use the full LPA code.
Why does my eSIM show no signal after landing?
Turn on the eSIM line, set mobile data to the GoVnSIM eSIM, enable Data Roaming, then restart your phone if needed.
Should Data Roaming be turned on?
Yes. Travel eSIMs usually need Data Roaming turned on to connect properly in Vietnam.
Can I delete and reinstall my eSIM?
Do not delete the eSIM after installation unless GoVnSIM support advises you to do so. Deleted eSIM profiles may not be recoverable with the same QR code.
How do I check if my phone supports eSIM?
On iPhone, check Settings → General → About and look for Digital SIM IMEI. On Android, dial *#06# and check whether an EID appears.
What does “Data Plan Cannot Be Added” mean?
This usually means the eSIM profile may already have been installed, or the activation code has already been used.
What does “Cellular Plans from This Carrier Cannot Be Added” mean?
This often means the phone may be carrier-locked or not compatible with eSIM. Please check your device before installation.
